Deeper Waters

2021-8-24 | Pastor Stacey LIttlefield

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I have just returned from a three-month sabbatical and have come back renewed, refreshed, and energized—and I want to share some of what I have experienced and learned with you. During worship on Sunday, August 29, I will share a testimony of how God has spoken to me during the sabbatical and some of what that means for us this fall and beyond.

The past year and a half have been challenging for churches across the country. And, as you know, this has been true of ECC, as well. It has been a season of loss and grief on several fronts. If you are one who has left ECC, let me first say that the council, staff, and I want to bless you. Thank you for your time with us and for whatever ways you joined with us in proclaiming and demonstrating the Kingdom of God. We pray that you have found a meaningful place to grow in faith, to worship God, and to serve the mission.

Despite these challenging times, however, I truly have hope for our future. I am excited and enthusiastic to be back at ECC and truly believe God has good things in store for us and for our community! Whether you have moved on to another congregation, are on the fence about where you will end up, or remain committed to ECC as your church home, you are invited to worship with us (online or in person) on Sunday, August 29, at 10:30am.

Please be in prayer for us and plan to join us. Pray that God will move in our midst and speak to us, that we will have ears to hear, and that God will give us the faith we need to move forward.

Thanks for making time to read this letter.

In Christ,

Pastor Stacey Littlefield

P.S. If you want to prepare for worship on that day, I invite you to prayerfully read and reflect on 2 Chronicles 20.1-17; Psalm 102.12-17; 1 Corinthians 15.39-45; Mark 11.24; and Luke 5.1-11.
