ECC Care Team

2022-9-20 | Kelli Holland

It is a joy to share with you that the ECC Care Team is up and running! After many months of prayer and planning, we have trained 12 Care Team members who are ready to serve the people of ECC and our community. Falling under the Touchstone of Presence, the Care Team seeks to live out the kingdom of God by practicing presence through intentional care of those who are hurting.

It goes without saying that we all go through times of pain and struggle. Heartbreak and sorrow are all around. Thankfully our great God never leaves us and we can count on Him to hear our prayers. (Joshua 1.5; Isaiah 65:24) Sometimes God also provides a person to walk alongside us in difficult times, bringing hope and healing. We, on the Care Team, want to be companions who allow you to authentically express your pain in an emotionally safe environment. We know that “telling our story” can be deeply meaningful when we are hurt or grieving, and we know that the presence of a trusted person who can listen and pray with us can make all the difference.

As Care Team members, our hearts are to care and support those who are hurting during challenging times. We plan to match people who would like to meet with a Care Team member one on one in confidential relationships for the purpose of traveling alongside you as you process your pain. We will listen, be present with you, and pray for you.

I’d like to ask you to consider if you might want to receive care from a Care Team member. Our ECC Care Team members will be consecrated in church on Sunday, October 16, and you are welcome to talk to any of us that day or anytime you’d like. In the meantime, please pray for this new ministry as we seek to continue to grow a culture of care and compassion at ECC.
